I800 off to agency
So after banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to fill out some of the questions on the I800, and emailing friends who have already adopted, I completed the form this afternoon. Our agency emailed us some forms we needed related to our son and informed me I had to fill out another form for USCIS, the I 864W. At least this one is 1 page long. I would like to know who actually writes these forms, they couldn't be any more confusing. Once our agency gets this tomorrow, they will add some more documents to the pile and mail to NBC. I am hearing it will take 5 weeks to get approval from them and then we send everything apostilled to Bulgaria (medicals and FBI background check). Once Bulgaria gets these apostilled forms they set a court date which can take 5-6 weeks and then we travel probably a month after that. Please pray with us that we get an adoption friendly Judge, who doesn't requested more information and delays us bringing our son home. I have tried to think what more they could ask for and am including our agency's updated license and our social workers license (we have a new social worker). Picked those up yesterday. Our doctors office said we should get our bloodwork results next week. The waiting game again!

Hope your head doesn't hurt to bad... it is just practice for taxes next year :p Doing the happy dance for ya, what a relief to get that thing in the mail and out of your hands!!!!! Now prayers... lots and lots prayers, for patience ... well and many other things! Hang in there!
Every step is one closer to bringing him home! YAY! Hoping and praying for quick time frames!!
Celeste,
Make sure that you call your USCIS agent that was assigned to your case... once you are on their case load you are always on their load unless they transfer, etc... So make sure to reach out to them and let them know to be on the look out. I made the "mistake" to scan and send mine... it took my agent from sending it in the mail on 11/23 until 12/11 to approve it. :)
Just an FYI.... USCIS is on your side... sometimes they just need to know that you are on top of the ball too!!! I think maybe it helped them to be familiar with my case prior to receiving the 800 in the mail. :)
Here's to a speedy approval... then once it is approved it will transfer to the National Visa Center... the Visa will be approved and then it is sent to the American Embassy in Bulgaria... etc... just in case that all didn't make sense from before... I was so confused until I was in the approval process. Hope that helps!! :)
I am praying for the a smooth, efficient, and complication free processing of all the next steps to get that sweet little boy home!!!!
I know exactly what you mean about banging your head trying to figure out how to answer the questions on the I-800. I did the same thing. What is so funny is that the instructions that USCIS puts with it are great if you need to know how to fill out your name or address but useless if you need to fill out the more complicated questions. For those the instructions say "fill in the requested information." Thanks! At any rate, here is hoping to a speedy approval. Our I800 has been with them since the first week in February, and we are hoping to get back to Bulgaria soon for our little boy as well. I will be praying that everything goes smoothly and quickly for you.
