9 Year Anniversary

Wednesday August 12th we celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary! We usually try go away to a Bed and Breakfast but this year I wanted to stay home and get some projects completed that keep getting put aside. My mother and father in law took the girls Wed night-Saturday which was wonderful. Wednesday night we went to Rose's Restaurant on the lake and then we watched a movie. Thursday we slept in and worked on some projects (cutting doors, painting them). Friday we slept in and finished painting the doors, put them up and painted the living room window that were installed a couple of years ago and never got done. I am exhausted, but we had a wonderful time together. We did miss our girls, but it was also nice to not have any obligations or places to be, but home together.

Our next project will be the kitchen and repainting our bedroom. We painted it when we moved in 5 years ago but I am not crazy about the color. We are keeping busy during this waiting period. I check other Bulgarian blogs daily and frua.org daily for any chattering about adoptions in Bulgaria. Maybe I need to get back to learning my Bulgarian, I gave up figuring we had a ton of time before we would get a referral.

Caroline will be starting school pretty soon. We have bought her supplies, and most of her school uniform. Next week we will buy the remainder of her stuff. I can't believe my little girl is going into 1st grade. She lost her first tooth today, I almost cried! Praying for our son and thinking about him daily, if not hourly. Wonder what he is doing today and if someone is holding him?

Happy Anniversary!!

Are you from Michigan? We are from Beaverton Michigan! We were just at Mackinaw Island two weeks ago today with our new daughter Jazmyne who we adopted last Sept 08from Qian Jiang China!

We no longer fit the criteria for China but do for Taiwan or Bulgaria. We really want another daughter but have no gender choice in Taiwan and they have more boys than girls. However, we can choose gender with Bulgaria. Can you tell me anything about your adoption experience with Bulgaria, including who your agency is, how has it gone and if you do not mind letting me know the costs??You can email me at reesrk@yahoo.com I also invite you to visit our blog www.jazzyrose.blogspot.com

Thank-you so Much!

Hi - We are adopting from Bulgaria as well! I just found your blog and am excited to connect with a few others who are adopting from Bulgaria. We just sent in our dossier for translation, but we are still waiting for NBC approval, so you are much further along than us! I will be praying for a referral to come very soon and for the Lord to be protecting your son and giving him a supernatural peace that lets him know that his mommy is coming to get him and that he will have a family to love him forever!!!

Blessings and smiles,
Lori Schumaker

Thought I would post my comment to the Howe's for you to read as well:
Hello Howe Family,
I'm truly sorry if my blog has discouraged you. I do want to clarify something for you. I didn't go into the nitty gritty details on the blog for the majority of friends would be lost. Holt has also said the timeline could possibly drastically change due to the new law and their adding children to the registry. We all thought it would be safe to show our profile to domestic birthmoms for maybe a 6 moth period and just see what happened. But because Bulgaria is so good at being transparent and showing their mtg activities, we would be able to gauge if things started moving more quickly and we needed to remove our domestic profile. Does any of that make sense? So, Holt told me that yes, the wait time could be reduced due to the new law, but no, they didn't honestly expect it to because it is a government operation and we all know what that is like. But the hope is there.
